Kimono Blouse

Recently created a blouse as a birthday gift, made in a gorgeous light Japanese cotton. Encompassing the Japanese style of the garment, the pattern was drafted with grown on short kimono sleeves. It lies with a wide boat neckline and a curved hem, which falls at both the front and the back and curves upwards at the side of the hips- creating a flowing design to contrast the blouse’s overall boxy appearance.  Ten small sea blue coloured buttons are sewn down the front in pairs, matching the blue elements in the fabric’s pattern.  It was made for a woman who suits a striking colour palette, so the vibrant red, blue and yellow detailing on the fabric’s black foundations complimented her nicely.
